One of my favorite days I’ve ever had with Ty and Jason
was the day before my mom’s birthday this year.
We decided to “surprise” my mom. She would leave to go to an early morning birthday breakfast with my dad, Monica, and Travis- and while they were gone we’d show up (from Logan) to decorate, bring gifts, birthday cake, etc before they got home. Plus we tried to plan a family trip to Willard Bay (the closest we could get my mom to a beach for her birthday) without her knowing. (It ended up being pretty complicated, because I talk to my mom 100 times a day and tell her pretty much everything).
ANYWAY, also to add to the complicated-ness : ) we wanted to take Jason’s cousin to the airport (it was on our way and we love Jessie) but she was leaving pretty early.
So- what ended up happening:
We put Ty in the car in his pajamas.
Drove and dropped Jessie off at the airport.
Had at least an hour to kill before anyone was leaving for breakfast.
So we stopped at a grassy area near the golf course at the airport to let Ty
watch the planes take off and land.
(When I was little my family would take picnics to these big grassy hills out by the airport
and just relax on Sunday afternoons.)
Apparently those hills are gone now.
We were on a little strip of grass in the golf course parking lot.
With huge blankets and Ty in is pajamas.
Yep, we got quiet a few strange looks.
AND- it ended up being one of my favorite memories ever.
Ty LOVED the planes.
It was perfect weather.
And we just sat and relaxed and talked for about an hour.
LOVE.
So mad I didn't take any pictures of Jason :(
